Diplomate of Acupuncture

NCCAOM Certified

A Diplomate of Acupuncture is an acupuncturist who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®). It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession. For additional information, about the Diplomate of Acupuncture, please visit the NCCAOM Website.

Doctor of Oriental Medicine

In New Mexico, all licensed acupuncturists have the title Doctor of Oriental Medicine.  This title was developed in order to let the public know that we are physicians who treat all aspects of health, not merely technicians.  As one of Japan's medical masters put it, with some exasperation, "If all we do is stick in needles, all we are is needle-stickers!"

DOMs are far more than needle-stickers.  In addition to traditional methods like acupuncture and herbs, we can order diagnostic tests, give counseling, help you decide what to eat and how best to exercise, and more.

Reiki Master

A Reiki Master has gone through additional training and experience in order to be able to teach as well as give treatments.
